It's Chinese New Year's eve today - it will soon be year of the dog; the rooster will be behind us. To celebrate we all went to the Mandarin - the restaurant that Fred used to work at - and had a slap up feed, including excellent sesame shrimp toast that were almost like king prawn toasties, Peking (or Beijing if you're in China) duck in pancakes with plum sauce and chilli ginger prawns. Yum.

Fred introduced us to Bai Jo - a particularly foul tasting Chinese spirit - and we downed lots of this and several Tsing Tao beers each so it was a merry celebration.
